modrn is a duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Charlie Montoya and Sofia Ailicez. The two have been playing together for over a decade in garage bands, alternative rock bands, and now as modrn.Self-described pop musicians, their music is piano, percussion, and vocal heavy, accompanied by rhythmic guitar and bass -- a blend of styles and sounds that depict their wide range of influences. A Foco Now article titled 7 Fort Collins bands that sound like artists you know lists artists like Clairo, Daniel Caesar, and Bon Iver as sonic similarities.Spring 2022 was a period of firsts, with a performance at a TEDx talk at Colorado State University, and their first appearance at The Aggie Theater.Their most recent achievements include playing alongside artists like Jelie and Maddy O'Neal in Beats By Girlz' We're Here Fest, and making their September edition of Pass The Aux with their song "bloom." In summer of 2023, they played Taste of Fort Collins.
